This product addresses multiple common-core standards for kindergarten through second grade. If you have been teaching a code-based strategies approach to your students to help them read sight words and you are not having success, try this packet! General and special education teachers will find it useful as well as Speech Pathologists who want to pull academic content into their therapy or are looking for common core-aligned materials to use to work on formulating sentences with their students. Children with language delays, from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and those from homes with limited language interactions or reading, will benefit from this product. It can be used with children from kindergarten to second grade. It can also be helpful for your neurodivergent students that learn best visually. The word and sentence are illustrated for the child in a child-friendly picture that provides the context that children with language delays need to develop their vocabulary and learn their sight words. Each card contains the sight word at the top and a sentence using the sight word at the bottom. That's why I developed these meaningful picture cards that contain all of the words from the pre-primer and primer lists. Often, sight word cards without pictures are not helpful to students with limited vocabularies. These cards use a meaning-based approach which scaffolds the language and concepts represented by the sight word. This gives you flexibility for all levels of intervention and includes progress monitoring forms! A teaching packet for Dolch primer and pre-primer sight words, with pictures! For every sight word, there is a full paper sized teaching poster with word, picture and sentence, a 1/4 page card with word, picture and sentence, and a 1/4 page card with word only.
